It was towards the end of July 2013 when I came up with the idea of 7 Ironmans in 7 Days on a Lands End to John O’Groats route. I didn’t give much thought to how but I knew exactly why. And I think what motivates me to want to do this is probably what motivates adventurers to conquer Everest or reach the Poles. It’s the same drive that makes people parachute jump or run desert marathons.
I believe that the world holds as much adventure within it as we have within ourselves. Where we are fortunate to be able to do so I am an advocate of stepping outside ones comfort zone, getting the heart racing once in a while and doing something that we may often consider difficult at best.
So it with this in mind that I want to push myself to my absolute limits. No-one has attempted to do precisely what I’m planning and although I am confident it can be done with the right training I certainly do not take lightly the challenge I have set for myself.
One thing is for certain, if I don’t attempt it I will definitely never complete it and if I do complete it I hope it inspires someone else to step outside of their comfort zone.
